Potters Farm Nursery is situated four miles North of Ludlow, in
South Shropshire. Our nursery soil type is a heavy loam which grows
strong, vigorous, well-rooted trees. This means high survival
rates when planted out, resulting in lower establishment costs.
We have been in the trade for over 35 years, and, as a
long-established family concern, take pride in being able to
offer a high level of personal service.
We have a broad range of customers, including woodland owners,
farmers, land agents, forestry consultants, forestry and landscape
contractors, local authorities, statutory bodies, the Forestry
Commission and private individuals.
We place great emphasis on careful plant handling, especially
during lifting, grading and heeling-in operations. The
roots are kept moist and free from frost at all times.
Orders are lifted as close to the collection/delivery
time as possible, and for larger orders the customer is
welcome to have multiple collections/deliveries to ensure
that the time between lifting and planting is kept to a minimum.
We continue to increase our collection of local seed, which
enables us to offer a wide range of locally grown native stock.
We are also members of the Forestry Commission Voluntary
Identification Scheme. Plants marketed under this scheme can
be identified by means of a Certificate of Local Provenance.
We would be pleased to show you around the nursery by appointment.
